The Fruits of Boredom
10 June 2008, 5:18 pm

It’s been mentioned in the past and I was bored this afternoon, so I decided to install one.

A forum.

The software seems pretty good so far, after my brief tinker time. I’ve certainly not come across any glaring issues with it, which is good. Anyone can register, natch.

I dunno how much it’ll get used, but no harm in finding out, eh?

‘natch’

My new least-favourite word (after ‘banter’, that is) :-P

Andy on 10 June 2008 at 7:22 pm

I quite like “natch”. “Chillax” makes me want to stab things, though.

I was thinking of installing a wiki. I think it’d be fun. Or get spammed half to hell…

Flix on 10 June 2008 at 7:28 pm

Just what I need, an excuse to spend more time on the internet…
:oP

Dickie on 10 June 2008 at 7:49 pm

I’m with you on Chillax. It’s just Wrong. And I’m probably gonna put a wiki on at some point as well. I’m not sure why, but y’know…

hannah on 10 June 2008 at 10:14 pm

Natch just makes me think your talking about nachos.
Talky talky

Lucy on 10 June 2008 at 11:40 pm

Oh, My, God!

My Dad told me on the phone that someone had introduced ‘Chillax’ to him the other day, and the problem with Dad is that he’ll actually go around saying it, in the same way that anything a bit cool or a bit different will get labelled ‘kinky’. I can’t tell if he might be trying to be ironic, but either way it’s not good. Then they wonder why I lack social skills….

hannah on 30 June 2008 at 1:05 pm

New blog already :oP

Dickie on 30 June 2008 at 1:37 pm

lol. I was gonna write something last night, but I kept getting distracted. Before I know it, it got to 3am and I thought sleep would be a better idea.

Watch this space! :)

Lucy on 30 June 2008 at 6:01 pm

…in case it starts sprouting?

Flitterbee on 30 June 2008 at 9:57 pm

Aww, but I’d gotten so used to 3am+ blogs. The afternoon ones just aren’t the same :P

Lucy on 3 July 2008 at 9:16 pm

It amused me briefly, anyway!

Flix on 6 July 2008 at 8:33 pm

How was Silverstone?

I actually had a Grand Prix/F1/general motorsport explanation conversation today, it may mean I might understand more if you ever happen to mention the subject in a passing blog one time :P

Dickie on 6 July 2008 at 10:10 pm

Heh, I’ve been to Silverstone twice since my last proper entry. For World Series by Renault and for F1 testing. Both were very good. Still not seen today’s race though (I get to watch it after Mum’s finished watching Big Brother…)

And good! I think there may well be a passing mention at some point :-)

Flix on 8 July 2008 at 9:31 am

I had to click three links in order to even reach here, and there’s nothing new to read! gah
I bet you’re just bitter cause the forum din’t take off :P

Lucy on 8 July 2008 at 5:15 pm

Argh, the titles have gone blue!

Maybe I’ve visited mid-redesign…

admin on 8 July 2008 at 5:18 pm

Yes. Yes you have.

hannah on 8 July 2008 at 5:48 pm

ooo he’s ‘admin’ now. Ponce :oP

admin on 8 July 2008 at 5:51 pm

lol. s’only cos im changing stuff - I’ll go back to Dickie when I re-login to write stuff.

Anyway, I can’t decide. Is blue better, or is green great?

Lucy on 8 July 2008 at 9:39 pm

Hmm, I liked the green personally. But I like the new font at the top of each comment!

admin on 8 July 2008 at 9:53 pm

It’s the same font, I just discovered some whizzy CSS to make it small caps.

hannah on 8 July 2008 at 10:12 pm

I prefer the green. Although the blue headerbar is a nice colour

Flix on 8 July 2008 at 11:12 pm

I like messing about with meinen blogs colours. Inevitably goes back to the beginning, though.
Green should always be seen. :D

Lucy on 9 July 2008 at 11:21 am

…and so, in true democratic fashion, the blog goes blue :-P

Callan on 9 July 2008 at 9:11 pm

I reckon the blue is good, but it needs some other colour to break it up a bit. Maybe make the comment titles, entry timestamps and sidebar subtitles green? Or something?

Incidentally, I saw Sigur Ros live having not previously heard any of their music and you’re right - they are great. Good call =)

Lucy on 9 July 2008 at 9:34 pm

*is intrigued about Sigur Ros now* How about we do another of those music swaps, Dickie?

I agree with Callan on the breaking up of colour but am not convinced about green with blue in those particular shades… Says she with all her artistic instincts… :S

Dickie on 10 July 2008 at 12:35 am

Hmm, you’re probably right. But tbh the green didn’t have any other colour to break it up either. I was gonna do a complete redesign, but got bored so just tweaked what I’ve got. And now can’t be bothered to re-tweak.

Glad you liked Sigur Ros, Callan - I’m seeing them live in November :D
Can do a music swap if you want, Lucy.
